Production Supervisor

 

DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing

 

LOCATION: Monroe, Connecticut 

 

SHIFT: “C” shift/”D” shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

 

FLSA STATUS: Exempt (salaried)

 

REPORTS TO: Manager of Production

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide supervision and leadership to 2nd shift manufacturing operations. Plans and assigns work; implements policies and procedures; increases subordinates’ skills and capabilities; and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1.      Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.

2.      Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.

3.      Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to managers.

4.      Coaches and counsels employees; documents/discusses performance reviews on a timely basis.

5.      Performs accident investigations.

6.      Maintains proper inventory levels.

7.      Manages department priorities.

8.      Tracks absenteeism and timekeeping.

9.      Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

 

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

·        7 to 10 years experience in all aspects of production and manufacturing.

·        Experience in all aspects of CNC machining (programming, setup, etc.)

·        4-year degree, or equivalent experience, in manufacturing engineering or management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Manages a function typically comprised of between 10 to 15 employees.

·         May/may not have Leads(s) as a direct subordinate.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)

·        Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

·        Minimal bending and stretching required.
