ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Our company designs and builds custom test equipment for the Aircraft Component Maintenance Industry. The Project Engineer position is responsible for the mechanical system design of these systems as well as their project management. Detailed knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical design and instrumentation are required to perform this positions design responsibilities. Strong teamwork and communication skills are

required to succeed in the project management portion of the position. This position is intimately involved with the project from inception through to installation at the customer's site.

Functions,

o Mechanical Design. Once assigned a project the engineer reviews the test procedures for the components on the equipment capability list and constructs a parameter matrix that will be used to design the hydraulic circuits and determine the instrumentation requirements. The mechanical design also includes the physical layout of the equipment in the test system and oversight of any tooling that is required to test the component.

o Project Management. The Project Engineer is responsible for the overall project. Other disciplines take responsibility for detailed design, electrical system, fabrication and assembly, but the Project Engineer has schedule and budget responsibility for the project.

o Equipment Check-Out. Once the equipment is assembled it needs to be setup and checked out prior to running components and customer demonstration. The PE works with the Electrical Engineer to setup and calibrate the equipment prior to testing the functionality of the equipment features. After the equipment is setup and proven to perform correctly the PE demonstrates the equipment to the customer on our floor.

o Field Start-Up. The PE is often the best resource to travel to the customer sight and supervise the installation and startup of the equipment. Once the equipment is on line the PE trains the customer's personnel in the use and calibration of the equipment.
